What is a degu?

What is a Degu?
A degu is a rodent that lives in Chile in South America. They are highly social animals and are strict herbivores. Degus live in groups, nest in burrows and are diurnal (awake during the day). Degus have brown fur, a pale coloured stomach and light rings around their eyes. They also have orange teeth. Degus have a medium length tail covered with wiry hair which gets longer near the end of the tail.
Degus are the most lovable animals I have ever met and if you adopt one as your pet they will bring you joy for as long as they live.
